With the art of magic, we deepen our vision and focus our will, empowering ourselves to act in the world. In this class we begin the practice of Magic, Witchcraft, and Goddess spirituality by working with the Elements of Magic: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. Techniques include: visualization, sensing and projecting energy, chanting, trance, creating magical space, spellcraft, and structuring rituals. Group experience follows feminist consensus process. We hope to provide a fair and nurturing environment for all participants.
Each class is structured as a ritual, and includes practical ritual and magical skills. Elements of Magic allows us to explore these skills in a supportive group setting. This class is a great way to connect with other people exploring Reclaiming-tradition magic and witchcraft.
We welcome both beginning students, and advanced students who want to deepen their experience of the sacred elements.
Prerequisite: Reading of the first six chapters of The Spiral Dance by Starhawk. We ask that applicants be committed to attending all classes, or let us know in advance if not.

The modern world is fast paced, ever changing and technologically advanced. However, a new kind of creative, relational and intuitive leadership is in demand and a widespread hunger for experiences of the sacred in daily life becomes more and more clear. Few opportunities exist for individuals to receive personalized spiritual mentorship and an opportunity to develop their innate magical gifts. Each of us has super powers - abilities that come naturally to us, but in leadership roles, we are often relied upon to have skills above and beyond our own specialties. What is your passion, your service, your offering? Where are your strengths? What are the edges you are pushing, the gifts you want to pursue? How can you hold authority confidently? Are you longing to change the world, the culture, or simply your workplace? Have you wondered how the tools and experiences from Reclaiming could translate into everyday? Are you being asked to step into more responsibility or visibility in some area of your life? Responding to a call from the community, Ravyn and Suzanne are offering a year long priestessing/leadership apprenticeship. We will explore tangible skills in multiple ritual modalities that will provide a foundation for your own priestessing, provide opportunities to prepare to student-teach in the Reclaiming Tradition or similar traditions and establish practices to deepen your connection to the Goddess and yourself. This apprenticeship is open to adults of all genders, orientations, and cultural backgrounds Skills cultivated will include: Developing a grounding and centering personal practice* Discovering your unique abilities, super powers, self awareness* Effective communication skills* Chanting, singing, drumming, yoga & meditation* Nourishing the body/mind/spirit* Growing confidence and charisma* Transforming stagnant patterns* Learning tools for conflict resolution, mediation in groups* Working with the elements, directions, and ancestors* Raising and containing energy* Working with deity, myth, and storytelling* Creating ritual* Aspecting, trance, divination, and other ritual technologies* Shadow stalking, projection, and boundaries* Power from within and shared power* Peer support and consensus process* Learning to find inspiration, trust yourself, ask for help From leading ritual to staying grounded in conflict, from ecstatic breathwork to giving constructive feedback, we will build the foundation to expand fully as a leader. We will work together as collaborators and allies to support each other's leadership paths. This 13-month-long training is designed for participants who make the commitment to the entire year. We will meet for a weekend workshop every month (with some breaks as noted on the schedule) to do intensive work in person. Between classes, you will be given the opportunity to deepen the work, and keep the energy palatable through an on line group and partner check ins. We ask that participants attend all sessions. Prerequisites - We ask that participants be experienced in the culture of the Reclaiming tradition. It is ideal if you have taken Elements of Magic, Rites of Passage, Iron Pentacle and have been to at least one witchcamp. If you do not meet these prerequisites, please let us know about your foundation in Reclaiming and your interest in developing leadership skills. |

Change is the only constant. With every breath, we are asked to integrate the new and release the outdated. We are living in times of rapid and unrelenting changes. Alchemy is the transition of material from one state of being to another. The alchemists were magicians, herbalists and early scientists who believed in an animated world and the possibility of creating the extraordinary. What do you want more than anything? What is still holding you back? What old stories about yourself do you want to transform? How is this ancient art relevant to our contemporary lives? What is the difference between medicine that relieves symptoms and medicine that transmutes poison? How can we transform patterns that are no longer helpful and find the gold hidden in our difficulties? In this experiential workshop we will use our minds, hearts, voices and bodies to remember why we are here and begin to embrace the changes for which our lives have been asking. We explore ancient alchemical scripts and delve into our own inner alchemy÷revealing the golden truth of the divine self in the laboratory of our souls. This workshop is open to adults of all genders, orientations, cultural and spiritual backgrounds. Please be familiar with trance or guided meditation and be respectful of different kinds of spiritual practices and/or open minded about working in a container of sacred space with voice, movement and energy work.

Want to write a novel, memoir, or other narrative? Working on a dissertation, magazine articles, or an epic poem? Want to jump-start your writing, regardless of the style? Let Reclaiming magic help! In this class, we will work with both the craft of writing and the emotional blocks that keep us from reaching our full artistic potential. We will do plenty of free and directed writing and share our work in a supportive circle. Click here to see handouts and syllabus for the class. Class meets in sacred space. With magical tools such as circle-casting, ancestor invocations, trances, and spellwork, we'll free our expressive gifts and strengthen our belief in ourselves as artists. We will spend at least half of each class writing, and will work on expressing our unique voice, creating simple plot-structures, developing characters, and other aspects of the writers' craft. This class is suitable for those already writing who want a supportive circle and new inspiration, and those looking to begin the process. Although you'll determine your own work-pace, be prepared to dedicate time each week to your writing, and to write for at least ten minutes each day. This class is also offered online to people outside the Bay Area, or to parents who cannot attend evening classes - next online class Summer 2012.
